Remember when I said I was going to second-guess myself? I was stressing about how to find a market in which to invest, so I watched a Biggerpockets video and got some more insight. People live where the jobs are. Look for areas where there are numerous Fortune 1000 companies.

Three hours later…I just found out from, Anton, my loan officer that I only qualify for a 40k line. Pretty disappointing. He said loan qualifications were tightened six months ago, but he’s going to keep looking. He says my DTI is no good. I asked him how much income I need and he responded, “$7,000”. Excuse me, what? It’s supposed to be a 400k line of credit.

The good news today was we were able to talk to an architect that is willing and enthusiastic about drawing plans for our two projects. The cousin is too busy to take on our projects. After today’s news from the loan officer, I’m a little worried about being able to secure financing for these projects.
