I fixed the leaky faucet after far too many trips to Home Depot. The tenant sent us a video of the leaky faucet just so we could eliminate any BS requests. It was legit. I took a look in-person, and it was leaking from inside the body. I went to HD and picked up a Delta faucet which came with water supply lines built into the faucet. Cool. I go home and get to work. I turned off the water at the angle-stops and then started to remove the faucet. Removing the faucet was not as easy as it should have been. The plastic nuts were a little stuck which took some work. I just happened to have a basin wrench which helped. Eventually, I was able to remove the old faucet. In goes the new faucet and tightening it to the sink was easy. Then I go to attach the supply lines. The cold supply screwed on nicely to the 3/8″ valve. I get to the hot and the supply doesn’t fit the angle stop. What? Idiot me, way back when, I installed the wrong size valve because it is 1/2″ and the supply is 3/8″. Mother Father! Back to Home Depot I go. I tell the plumbing department guy what I did and is there any solution other than changing the angle stop? He says, “I could give you some options, but do it right instead.”. I acquiesced and picked up a new valve, hoping I had the correct one. Nope. I picked up a compression style and it what I needed was a threaded FIP version. Ah f$%#! Back to the Home Depot. This time I forgot my wallet and Home Depot doesn’t have Google/Apply pay yet so I couldn’t use my phone to pay. As I’m cursing myself, I call my wife on the way home to ask her to get my wallet. I’m sure there were some “pendejos” thrown around. I get my wallet, head back to Home Depot, return the wrong part, pick up the right part, pay, and head home. After that, it took me ten minutes to finish up the job. Now I just need to get closet doors to cover her water heater and pantry.

No word on the ROS front. I don’t see anything recorded at the County, but I could be looking in the wrong spot.

I got some alerts yesterday about credit being pulled. At least I know the HELOC process is moving along.

I don’t think I mentioned it in previous posts, but our neighbor at the duplex has the sickly (according to a tree guy I hired) Japanese elm that “pisses” sap all day. If the angle of the sun is right, one can see the sap mist in the air. It makes cars sticky and a general mess. Because it is sick, it is growing root across our property and popping up in different places. I need to talk to him and convince him to have the tree removed. He’s a bit of a recluse and not very personable so I’m not looking forward to the conversation.
